🎭 Spike Milligan
Comedian and writer Spike Milligan developed a lasting attachment to the Woy Woy peninsula through his parents and brother. Visits offered time to write, relax and become involved in local causes. His support included the Woy Woy Little Theatre and campaigns to preserve Riley’s Island, the former church at Blackwall and Henry Kendall Cottage. His association extends across the wider Woy Woy peninsula community. Behind the jokes about Woy Woy was someone who cared enough about the area to help protect parts of it.
